SoN Errata #1
SoN Errata #1 Posted on [23/11/2017] à 03:08

Iello only carries two Shadows items, base box and Call #1. I guess that means their is no demand for the new stuff (errata page and Call #2), not going to count Shadow Hunters since it is a limited print run, but looking here it would seem otherwise.

I wonder if the game would be more popular if there was more availability of it and the extras?

I work in a US game store (part-time,small place).

We sold Hon products for 2 years, and have nothing left but 1 core box (original print). Now we don't/can't. We had players, it was growing.

I digress, but it's worthwhile information to pass on.

back on topic, I'll scoop up SoN Errata, Shadow Hunters, and Battlegrounds 2 & 3 if any appear in the DP US Store. I hope they do.

hmmmm……..cookies.

Look, I don't have any real numbers on this. I am pretty sure DPG is not selling to a channel because they choose not to — The channel did the choosing. That is the impression I got.

However, I must point out that demand in a local store spurred on by one or more avid fans does not translate into demand all over the country — the plural of "anecdote" is not "data". Did your store tell their wholesaler they wanted more? That sort of feedback is what can change this situation. The channel needs to see the demand.

If 66% of KS backers are from the USA that means there could be potentially 66% of buyers for the errata in the US market, let alone people who bought the games after the KS. Plus that is 66% of your support even if it did not begin in the store itself. Not many would pay 30 us dollars for errata, so no wonder US supporters are not buying. Put some in the US store and theyll be out of stock sooner than you know it.

Plus 2 out of the 3 SoN expansions are sold out in the US store. It does give off a vibe DPG does not care. Seems like theres a higher demand than you think.

SoN Errata #1 Posted on [25/11/2017] à 11:31

US backers are 40%, the same for french backer generally.

We are taking a look to what we can send to the US warehouse, but we cannot send little quantities by little quantities because it is TOO expensive.

So we want to make the things available, but not enough to go bankrupt doing it.

Assuming that an equal amount of expansions ended up in both stores, then the fact that one store was sold out could potentially show a higher demand. But equal portioning is not very likely given what Axel has said about the ratio. And that is ignoring a lot of other potential factors. Axel has mentioned some of them. There is no way to get into those factors without turning this into an economics lecture.

Errata files should be posted on the site as free downloads. Small courtesy for those that have early versions of the game.

SoN Errata #1 Posted on [26/11/2017] à 04:54

Huh. I thought they were… the other boards are already posted. I will ask Axel.

I'm wondering if there's any list of cards modified.

Also, playing with Deep Ones, they have a card –Dive Deep, I think it was– that allows them to replace an eliminated deep one. Had it come up twice in one game, ruled that anything can be returned because nothing says otherwise, but I am wondering if named units shouldn't be allowed to come back with this. Seemed pretty OP to have Bargh Myeh and the shaman leader pop back up anywhere they like after fighting so hard to get past them.

Oops! I apparently forgot to actually post the pointer for the Errata #1 entry on the contents page of the Unofficial Product Index. >.<

You can find it here. I knew I added it, but then did not let anyone know! 🙄

Fixed now.

Ok i recieved the SON errata 1

Can someone let me know if the cards that came are replacements of the originals and if so, isthere a way to make sure I do it correctly?

Thanks!

You mean, like if there was a list of the affected cards?

Did you check the product index entry for the errata?

Sorry, I did jump the gun on this. I didn't even open the original decks until today 😳

Yes, they seems to replace type-o cards and phrasing for certain cards in each deck.

Its only because it has sat on the shelf since '15 and I've been wanting to get it corrected before I dug into it.

It looked straight forward as I replaced the associated card with the corrected.

On that note, I just have a few other questions if I may:

-Is there a current revised rule book and playbook available? I only see A!C available. I'd like to have the latest as I start going though.

– I own the exclusive Cthulhu expansion. How is this incorporated in to the game? Is there scenarios for this? Is it Actung! Cthulhu!? or is it for a create your own point related battle?

-How is Actung! Cthulu worked into this game if I have the core, KS Cthulu add, and Call #1 expansion?

Sorry, I'm just trying to get an overview of everything.

Thanks for you help Nostradunwhich

Doug

Well, folks in the forums are happy to help, but it would be helpful if you could check things first. Sometimes it just takes a moment to look at the parts and figure out what is going on.

If you are still unsure, then by all means check the posts here and your question may have been answered already.

If not, then please bring it up. If you ran into an issue then someone else could as well and they might find the answer you get helpful.

Short answer: Not yet. It is in process but still being worked on.

There is a PDF in the downloads section for SoN that has a scenario that includes a range of materials from the SoN KS-extras including Cthulhu.

But limiting yourself to only pre-made scenarios is ignoring a large part of the Heroes System Tactical Scale system. The points are there to make creating your own scenarios easy. DPG includes tokens for objectives and such precisely for use by those making their own scenarios.

I am not sure what you mean by that…

If you mean the original Achtung! Cthulhu system, then the SoN rules are exactly that — incorporating the Achtung! Cthulhu "universe" into the HSTS system.

If you mean the old expansion, take a look at the PDF available in the downloads section for A!C. It includes some scenarios and such to use that expansion with the SoN rules. There is a bit of story and some interesting scenarios to play.

It was straightforward to replace the 22 cards, as all cards exchanged with identical copies of themselves. However, I faced confusion with the Black Sun Second Chance (3x) replacement cards, as there are only two copies of Second Chance in the original deck.

It turns out, the original deck has 2x Second Chance and 3x Tactician. You are intended to replace both Second Chance and one Tactician from the original deck with the three new Second Chance cards.

I wasn't able to find this information anywhere online after about 10 minutes of searching.

Nostradunwhich, would you mind adding a note to SON Errata #1 in the Unofficial SON Product Index about this? Perhaps add an asterisk to the list of replacement cards, like:

– Second Chance x3*

*The third Second Chance card replaces an extra Tactician card in the original deck.

Thank you!

You can find the pdf-file at the end of this page:

https://www.devil-pig-games.com/en/downloads/shadows-of-normandie/rulebooks/

Then you can make a DIY punchboard (quite simple and effective) or ask Azao or some other company to do this for you.
