i just put a post on BGG about this issue..my son has a bit of the bolt action stuff.and we had the rulebook open for it and got talking about using HON pieces for it.and it does actually work!!..its not perfect.but for the small skirmishes etc.it does work.we agreed on the rule of 6" which i believes the normal movement in BA by ruler..we put down as 2 squares.seems to be ok.i mean why wouldnt it work?…your basically using the materials ie:units boards scenery buildings etc etc..in place of the BA equivelant!.you just need 2 different coloured sets of dice. you dont need the marked dice from the BA game.as the rulebook as the numbers for the actions!.also use the "suppressed" tokens in place of the "pinning".its the same thing!

all i will say is,we did the first 2 missions from the BA rulebook.and seemed to work well !!

no painting no building models etc..there already here.

give it a try. 😉

Great, can you give us the link to the post, please.

Alors oui je fait des fautes d’orthographes mais il faut bien que je m’exprime non ?

I'm considering doing some Bolt Action but if I do it will be in 15mm, easier to paint, easier to store, much cheaper and closer to the scale distances in the game.

A Friend and myself tried that some time ago. Although we didn't use the "full" Bolt Action rule set, we used the "random order" draw. We put the order tokens in a bag and, instead of following the order sequence, we drew them and the colour indicated which player can than issue a command.

We have yet to try out using the full bolt action rules as indicated by the OP. The way we did it wasn't that big of a deal. We had the feeling the game ran more fluent (although we might just thought that) and yes you obviously have to didge some of the cards regarding order token manipulation.

However and just shows that the HoN Content can be used for different things. I always considered it as a miniature wargame where I don't have to paint miniatures 🙂

I would also love to hear from someone who used all the bolt action rules with HoN and how it went.

Bolt Action can be hard for those who feel overly competitive. Where the games like HoN help keep army stacking to a minimum and thus are, IMO, easier to keep on a friendly fun level.

What do you mean by "army stacking" and about being competitive?

Sorry english isnt my native language 🙂

As a 10 year veteran bolt action player, and a HON/SON player they are NOT compatible BA is a tabletop miniatures game. BUT I have seen people take flames of war models and put them on the game tiles to add the 3D realism to HON
