[HoP] Preview issues
Heroes of the Pacific Punchboard issues Posted on [08/04/2023] à 20:18

For those who have spotted issues with the preview tokens from the HoP campaign, you can report those here.

When mentioning an HQ Rifle Company command, please include the entire designation. Saying "HQ 1st Marine Division" could be the one for the 1st or 5th Regiment. It is worse for the Japanese versions, since "HoHei Butai Hombu" is basically just saying "HQ Rifle Company" and has less info than just the division.

I will consolidate the reports for DPG.

Dauntless marker

(DONE) The designation should be "SBD" not "SDB"

Wildcat marker

(DONE) The "F4F" designation should be before Wildcat, not after.

Gun-Ho marker

(DONE) should be spelled "Gung Ho"

Edson Ridge

(DONE) One of the M1917 HMG has 1st Parachute Bat stripes (blue/white/blue/white/blue) on the front, instead of Parachute Platoon A stripes (blue/white/blue). Reverse side is correct and the other M1917 is correct on both sides.

(AS INTENDED) Is the 2nd Marine Div, 2nd Marine Reg tactical command tile supposed to have a Doctrine Card deck associated with it? It has an organization arrow and stripes, so it would appear so, but there isn't one shown on the tile.

Heroes of the Pacific Punchboard issues Posted on [08/04/2023] à 22:10

(DONE) Elmo M. Haney hero tile does not specify a breaking point. It should have a breaking point of 1, shouldn't it?

Hello, these are the results of a once over of the kickstarter available images:

Game Elements:

(AS INTENDED) The USMC LCVP were known as LCA in Bloody Omaha

(DONE) Building A-02 – There is a set of window arrows that overlap with the red boarder of the building

USMC:

(DONE?) HQ 1st Marine Devision Radio token – only has 4 defence while other radios have 5

Japanese:

(REPORTED) Air Service IJN recruitment tile – on its right edge should it have the Japanese Naval stripe color (red & black) or its current army one (white & red)?

(DONE) Hohei Butai Hombu recruitment tile – other named officers have a white customization stripe on their option sockets, should Tanabe have one?

Terrain:

(REPORTED) CB6-A – The center fern shrub does not have terrain iconography

War Stories 1:

(AS INTENDED) 02 both the 5cm mortar and type 92 bat gun – observation that both of them gain movement (2->3) from being in ambush. Probably intentional but I think that is new to the heroes system.

Daily unlocks:

day 11 – the type 98 20mm AA gun tile does not match the type 94 37mm AT gun token next to it.

These are looking great and I am again very excited by the additions and creativity to shake this game up! Thanks for compiling these Nostradunwhich!

Minor issue (but I like consistency 😀 ):

(IN DEVELOPMENT) All of the Tactical Command tiles in the Tokyo Express battle pack are missing the command laurel wreath in the division command icon.

The LCA was built by the UK.

The LCVP (Higgins boat) was built by the US.

The LCA is a bit longer, but actually had a more shallow draft than the LCVP. However, the LCVP was faster and could carry much more cargo (according to wikipedia anyway), up to a 2700kg vehicle. According to Wikipedia, the LCVP can carry about 10 times the cargo, but the same number of troops (36).

I would not worry about the "sample pages" of the core box for right now. There will be punchboards posted for comment after the campaign. These "sample pages" are a fast cut/paste that added some errors that are not on the actual punchboard images.

Focus on the daily reveals for now.

Edit:

By "sample pages" I mean things like the Game Elements page (the ones with a "metal" background.

Day 5/22

(DONE) M2A4 Light Tank – "Light" is misspelled "Ligth" on both the option tile and the tank vehicle tile.

[HoP] Preview issues Posted on [14/04/2023] à 16:16

Day 10/22

(DONE) Lieutenant is spelled wrong (missing the "e" between the t and n) on both the Platoon recruitment tile and on the officer counter. If this is purposely being shortened due to space issues, you should go with "LT" instead, as that is the accepted US Army abbreviation.

(DONE) The Mechanized order tile specifies "M3A1" while the halftrack units themselves specify "M1" – I believe "M3A1" is correct.

Discretion doctrine card – this card mentions "Opportunistic Fire" – as far as

I am aware, all rules BRO and later have changed this to "Opportunity Fire". For consistency sake, this should use the new term.

[HoP] Preview issues Posted on [16/04/2023] à 08:54

Day 13/22

(DONE) HQ Rifle Company tile has as part of its description "182th" instead of "182nd"

Day 17/22

(DONE) Lieutenant misspelling here too.

Day 20/22 – the preview is missing the Command Staff tile.

Thank you much for your other errata points, however I would not worry about this once. The stuff shown are only samples of units from the punchboard, they are not the punchboards themselves, so whether or not a given unit does not make it to the graphic does not make it "missing".

DPG has not decided for certain if they are going to use the same command laurels as they use for Field and High command tiles…It is still "fluid" at the moment 🙂

Thanks. This one is a recurring issue when it is first translated 🙄

Edson's Ridge

(REPORTED) Jules Sroker unit tile front side should have a Reduce hit indicator instead of a Destruction icon.

[HoP] Preview issues Posted on [19/04/2023] à 16:10

Carlson's Patrol

(REPORTED) Major J. Mather recruitment tile: army point cost is listed as 40, but reverse side lists 6 victory points.

Hello, I was analyzing the Japanese badges since I like a lot the style and wanted to translate the text and find more info on the internet and I found that the 2nd Division text it's using the same as the 38th one.

And also the 18th should end in 兵団 instead of 兵團

It should be like:

Red border – 38th Division – Nickname –> Swamp Division (沼兵団, Numa Heidan)

Blue border – 2nd Division – Nickname –> Courageous Division (勇兵団, Yu Heidan)

Green border – 18th Division – Nickname –> Chrysanthemum Division (菊兵団, Kiku Heidan)

Amazing job nevertheless! there's so little info of unit marks for japan.

You really made a great job using elements of army ranks like the red M for infantry.

Love them!

Dokuritsu Sensha Chutai = Independent Tank Company

For the tank unit instead of “Rikugun Tank Battalion” ?
