Azao Games Token Printing

So I reached out to Azao and they sent me a list of what they can print up and its pretty extensive but I wanted to reach out to you folks to see if anyone has done this? Are they the same quality as the ones done up by Devil Pig's games? If not, I'd probably get it printed here in the States but if they can match the quality of the SON stuff I might give them a go.

Let me know what you think,

Brian

They use a different stock to make their tokens, it is not as thick as standard DPG stuff, which makes terrain tiles a bit "problematic" as they do not provide an even battlefield surface for moving tokens around. The print quality overall is very good, I am not sure about the bonding or wear on the tokens as I have not used them that often in games.

I have a few items from Azao. The print quality is excellent, but it’s different from the official stuff. The cardboard is very sturdy, but noticeably thinner. I first thought it even was MDF. The print quality is also a bit more glossy compared to the real products. It looks like professional quality laser printed material, if you know what I mean with that. The official prints are a bit more satin and textured, whereas Azao’s material is slicker, smoother.

Thanks for bringing this up, I had forgotten that. They are really strong pieces, that is for sure!

I also have several sets printed from Azao.

I am happy with the print quality, but as has been already said, the printing is noticeably different from normal DPG stuff.

Counters are of harder material, thinner and glossy.

If you have access to a 3D printer, it’s a simple matter to print out tokens at the correct thickness and size. I then printed out the actual units on matte vinyl sticker inkjet printer. These are a very close match in my opinion.
