I just received my (very large) order with SoN, DW and assorted goodies (French version, even though I also speak English). I did have a question in SoN: many scenarios feature wooden passageways … but I can't for the (un-)life of me find how and where they are supposed to be deployed, either in the rules or in the scenario booklet. This is obviously important because of the affinity of the Deep Ones for water … and the problems those pesky humans from Majestic may have. Does the defender deploy them? Do players alternate placing them? If so, who starts? Thanks in advance for your help!

If you want things to be kept "even" you could either alternate as Bart suggested or you could use an "I build, you choose" system where one person builds the terrain and the other chooses on which side of the battlefield to deploy.

The most basic concept is "be a good player" and try to come up with an interesting battlefield without an obvious advantage for the scenario chosen.
