Couldn’t find it anywhere on the rulebook or around the forum, apologies if it’s been answered already;

what’s the ruling regarding deploying troops already inside a transport?

That's perfectly viable. As long as you respect the carrying capacity of a transport unit.

Unfortunately, it is missing from the rules.


Embarrassingly, it is missing from every version of the rules that I have checked: HoN (both versions), the Compendium, and HoBR. I said "embarrassingly" because you are not the first person to ask the question, but it keeps getting forgotten by me when rules issues are discussed during development of the next book.

What is the issue you are talking about? What you mean with "deployment of troops already inside" (a vehicule apt to carry troops)?

May you tell explicitly what are the problems you are talking about? What lacks in the rulebooks are you referring to / talking about here?

The rules never explicitly explain that you can place units inside transports during deployment.

Even though it isn't specifically explained in the rules, it is quite logical that units can be deployed anywhere on the map at locations that are not restricted for them to enter.


If they can move into a building or vehicle with Transport ability, they can also be present there already at the start of a game.


In Official Scenarios it is clarified whether any troops start the game inside a vehicle with transport ability.


Troops might arrive in landing craft at a beach or start the game inside a vehicle that's part of a convoy.


Feel free to take deployment in vehicles into account for your fanmade scenarios. Enjoy.
