You can mix the forces (hello Germans as Imperial Guard!), but it is recommended you use the HoBR rules for the following:

– Bluff (Only if you purchase it as an Order Option)

– Assault (Other troops can support an assault)

I have played a few games mixing HoBR and HoN/HoS (that was with the Drop Zone contents only).


I see no difficulties in combining the games.


Removing the free Bluff and adding to the assault rules sound like fine suggestions.


Now that I have the whole HoBR range available, I need to actually try to add the Hon army as Planetary defence force in the game.


I'm still thinking about which army to use first as all of them would work!

This is supposed to be a joyful occasion. Lets not bicker and argue about who killed who.

My sons tried an armor heavy Germans vs. Space Marines.


No problems rule wise, but the Tigers were more than a match for the poor Marines!


The HoBR units have less special skills than what is available on the larger HoN range, that certainly helped (Witmann is a beast) but a bit of balancing on the heavy vehicles might be needed.

I have to admit that I personally think Wittmann is a bit overpowered at least for the current cost.

I haven't played much with the Tigers, but one time I played with 2, both were one-shotted by a nasty Firefly…


Not Wittman though. They were crewed by Otto and Von Ballot.

I think Wittmann is good as it is… Maybe Otto Carius, is a little bit op… Since it has a perpetual "overwatch" status upon it, then it performs better than Wittmann himself.


In addiction, you have to choose the correct mix of weapons to win: if you see your opponents do select many "heavies" (troops and tanks) then try to select troops and tanks with skills and weapons able to get rid of the opponents' heavies!!!


With plenty of plasma cannons, plasma bombs, lascannons, meltaguns and rending powerclaws, powerswords and the apothecary or the librarian skills, and you say the marines are feeble and no match if put against Wittmann or Tiger tanks?!? Are you sure of this?!? Or, as I think the case is, you say so only cause you had a streak of bad rolls while attacking Tiger tanks with your space marines force?!? I think the second one is the case.

Give it a try and see if you can defeat them pesky tanks with the correct space marine army mix and weaponry/tactics!!!
