Haid, Belgium, December 23, 1944 :

Two days before Christmas, the 2nd Panzerdivision is spearheading the German offensive in the Ardennes. In spite of having suffered significant losses, it remains the most powerful armored unit of the V Panzer Armee. With their vehicles almost running on fumes, they need to push on only 6 more km to reach the bridges across the river Meuse.

The 2nd US Armored Division was transferred back to the 1st US Army on December 21. Their mission is to smash the vanguard of the

2nd Panzerdivision and stop the Germans in their tracks.
