13 June 1944, near Villers-Bocage :
“Careful, Heinrich”, Michael Wittmann called to his driver as the massive Tiger maneuvered its way around another tight bend in the Normandy hedgerows. ”Somewhere around here, there’s a bunch of’ Tommy tankers.”
Before anyone could answer him, there was a loud bang and squeal of metal as a shell bounced off the front of’ the German tank. ”Herr Hauptsturmführer, I think we’ve round them,” cursed young Gunther Weber, the tank’s loader, as he slammed a shell into the breach.
“More like they’ve found us,” corrected Wittmann calmly. ”Rudi, signal the others to advance at once. We shall take them out and render them useless!”
